Austin’s innovative and wildly generous food community
invites all arts and food lovers to join them
for Rude Mechs’ annual benefit,

THE PEARL DIVE.

Come enjoy the city’s finest food, get your drink on, and help Rude Mechs usher in another exciting year of radical playmaking right here in Austin, TX!

Yes, friend, The Pearl Dive is back, and this year we are thrilled to announce it will be held at Mongers Market + Kitchen, just a stone’s throw from Rude Mechs’ theater, The Off Center.

About the Pearl Dive
The Pearl Dive is a drink-filled, Gulf Coast-sourced seafood feast featuring a glistening array of grilled red snapper, grouper, cobia, shrimp, oysters, a raw bar with boiled shrimp, and whatever else the fishermen bring in that week. With
Chef Shane Stark at the helm, some of Austin’s finest chefs will be cooking at the event, including Josh Matlock, Executive Chef of Nightcap Dessert Lounge, and Chef Ruston Richardson, Executive Chef of Coast. For Rude Mechs’ lovers who are vegans and vegetarians, Chef Stark has brought along Mongers’ Cesar Chavez neighbor, Sue Davis, Chef and owner of Counter Culture specializing in internationally inspired vegan dishes destined to delight vegans and omnivores alike. New to East Austin but a long celebrated sensation throughout Spain, Cien Pizzitas will be delivering delectable handmade and cooked to order six-inch pizzas with an array of Spanish-style toppings all night long via moped! And Austin’s catering sensation, Austin Pig Roast, will be serving their famous frisée au lardons salad. The Pearl Dive will also feature the DJ stylings of award-winning Austin-based band leader and composer Graham Reynolds and event illustrations and entertainments by Austin’s most-beloved party-crasher, Quick Draw Photo Booth. Stay tuned to RudeNews for more updates.

Attention VIP’s: Special Tasting with Chef Shane Stark!
We are also very excited to offer a $150.00 VIP ticket that gets you into The Pearl Dive one hour earlier to experience Special Tastings with Chef Stark, a private tasting experience in the Mongers Market + Kitchen dining room. Chef Shane Stark will create the party. In the past his tastings have included: delectable amuse bouches with select wine pairings, ceviche constructions, and even haute-cuisine cooking classes.

All proceeds support Rude Mechs and everything that goes on at The Off Center. Join us!
And if you can’t, we hope you consider donating to the cause here.

About Rude Mechs

Rude Mechs is an Austin-based collective theatre company that has created a genre-averse slate of over 30 original plays that we have produced at our venue, The Off Center, in Austin, TX, since 1999. We manage The Off Center, give it away as much as we can, and rent it as cheaply as possible to support Austin’s arts community. We run Off Center Teens – a summer camp in autobiographical writing for performance. And when we are lucky, we get to tour our work. Our most recent production Stop Hitting Yourself, premiered in Lincoln Center’s LCT3 program in New York in January 2014, toured to Dallas, and is on its way to San Francisco. Our play Now Now Oh Now, recently completed a six-city national tour and will hit Austin December 2015. And our play The Method Gun his on its way to San Francisco this fall.
