ABOUT DANDELION (from Becca):
Currently envisioned at a solo show with some light puppet work (designed by Greg Corbino).
This project is a stand up piece for a non-stand-up-comedian. I am someone with a background
in collaborative and collective art making and street performance. I am someone who has
sustained themselves making art by the skin of their teeth over three decades because I’m
desperate for the collective of humanity to expand. And the people I am making this piece with
represent similar experiences and feelings, and we’re creating something together that can
create an entryway where everyone is invited to simultaneously see themselves and expand
beyond their current limits of identity. Using a template of stand-up, we weave storytelling and
reflection about my experiences of living two genders into an experience for the audience that
climaxes in a collective meditation where we can all transcend our preconceived notions of
identity and expand into the truth of the joy that lies beyond all categories.

ARTISTS BIOS
BECCA BLACKWELL(they/them) Recently- recurring on THE PITT and doing double duty at
Tribeca Film Festival with Tina Romero’s QUEENS OF THE DEAD and Walker Higgins GOD’S
LONELIEST MAGICIAN. On camera, they can currently be seen recurring on Michelle Buteau’s
Netflix Series SURVIVAL OF THE THICKEST and recurring on HBO Max’s Peabody
award-winning TV series, SORT OF. Additional credits include Hulu’s RAMY, HBO’s HIGH
MAINTENANCE, and Showtime’s SHAMELESS. A staple of New York Theatre, Becca recently
debuted their latest show Snatch Adams… at Soho Rep. They also originated leading roles in
Hurricane Diane (off-Broadway) and Is This a Room (Broadway and off-Broadway).

MADELEINE GEORGE‘S plays include Hurricane Diane (Obie Award), The (Curious Case of the)
Watson Intelligence (Pulitzer Prize finalist; Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award), Seven
Homeless Mammoths Wander New England (Susan Smith Blackburn finalist), Precious Little
and The Zero Hour (Jane Chambers Award, Lambda Literary Award finalist). Honors include a
Whiting Award, the Princess Grace Award, the Hermitage Major Theater Award, and a Lilly
Award. Madeleine was a co-producer on FX’s Dying for Sex and a writer/producer on four
seasons of the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated mystery-comedy Only Murders in the
Building.

OLIVER BUTLER is a founding member and co-Artistic Director of The Debate Society and has
directed and toured with the company. In New York, Mr. Butler has directed the world premieres
of The Lapsburgh Layover, Buddy Cop 2, Cape Disappointment, Goodbye New York Goodbye
Heart, The Eaten Heart, The Snow Hen, Red-Haired Thomas, Hostage Song, A Thought About
Raya, You’re Welcome and Christmas with the Flamingos. He was the Assistant Artistic Director
of The Berkshire Theatre Festival, where he directed The Einstein Project and This is Our
Youth. Mr. Butler has assisted directors including Jo Bonney, Pam Mackinnon, and John Rando.
In 2004 and 2005 he was a participating director in Lincoln Center’s Directors Lab. With Hannah
and Paul, he is a Sundance Institute Fellow.
