about tanner jones
tanner jones is a multimedia artist, software developer, and performer based in the US. their recent work explores the significance of materialism on memory and identity by transforming abandoned objects into living producers of sound, light, video, and movement. as a performer and improviser of live electronics and video, they frequently collaborate with Austin-based SoundMap Ensemble and various solo performers. tanner develops audio and performance software under the name ~degausserDSP. all of their software is free and open-source. a passionate educator, they currently teach courses on multimedia performance and sound design at the University of Texas at Austin, where they are finishing a doctorate in music composition.
