DIRECTIONS TO THE OFF CENTER
Click here for a map. To get to the Off Center from IH35, take 7th Street heading east from IH35. Pass through 3 lights. Once you have gone past the third light at Chicon Street, get in the right hand lane and take a right on Robert T. Martinez. Take an immediate left on Hidalgo. The Off Center is the first building on your right. We are located directly behind the Short Stop and the Payless Shoe Store on E. 7th St. Click here for a map.
There's plenty of FREE parking on the street and across the street at Joe's Bakery (for night performances only).

OUR MISSION
The Off Center is managed by RUDE MECHANICALS, an ensemble-based theatre company located in Austin, Texas committed to the collaborative creation of brave new works for the stage, the development of new voices in the theatre, and to forming alliances with other artists locally, nationally, and internationally. The Off Center is a multi-arts space dedicated to confounding the boundaries that separate artistic genres by creating a community center for artists of all disciplines.
The Off Center comprises a medium-sized flexible theatre 55' x 38' (maximum of 93 seats), 5 studios for visual artists, and the administrative offices of Rude Mechs.

The Off Center yard was landscaped and is maintained by the generosity of Touch O' Green Landscapes. They make our grounds beautiful and we love them for it. We hope that you will contact them for any of your landscaping needs.
The Off Center building paint design was generously donated by Redstart Paint Design. Not only did they design it, but they created the templates and dug in with us to paint it. We are incredibly lucky to have them as friends. Again - they are fancy, so if you need something extraordinary done to the inside or outside of your place, contact them!
And then there is Studio 512. They fearlessly jumped into donating the design of The Off Shoot - our Grrl Action room. The project is underway. Come by anytime to check it out!
